  • Hopelessly helpless in a Toyota Solara - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara

I had this car since 6/2003 and started bring for repair service 7/2003. It has been serviced at Gateway Toyota, of Toms River, NJ 13 times in the last year. Anything that could go wrong, did, from tires already needing to be replaced, to most recent the catalytic converter falling off. My car currently has 22,000+ in mileage and I have a lawyer to claim lemon law. After all this Toyota wanted me to go thru mediation with a company they chose. Both Gateway Dealership and Toyota have been absolute helpless and actually made me feel like I was losing my mind. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!!!!

It is now 2015 and I have had my 2003 for years. It has 230,000 miles and still performing to standards. This car has grown on me to the point I dont want to sell it or give it away. Very dependable no major issues. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone that wants a little style and reliability.

This car is sporty and looks outstanding. Has ample back seats for passengers, which is a plus. Appears that the Solara convertibles are hard to find but am glad I persisted. Almost bought a sedan but a test drive in this car convinced me to find one. Considered waiting for 04, but the convert wont be out til late Spring 04. Fun to ride. Drives smooth and quiet but still lots of power. Planning on having this gorgeous car for quite a while. Highly recommend.

  • NO DISAPPOINTMENTS HERE - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara

PROVEN OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR RELIABILITY. THIS CAR IS IDEAL CAR FOR THE GET IN AND DRIVE TYPE PERSON. NO SO FLASHY AS WHEN YOU LEAVE IT AND COME BACK YOU WILL FIND FINGER PRINTS ALL OVER THE CAR OR THAT SOMEONE HAS STOLEN SOMETHING OFF IT CAUSE ITS NEAT, BUT A CAR THAT IF CLEAN EVERYONE NODS A NOD OF APPROVAL. ABSOLUTELY NO DISAPPOINTMENTS IN OWNERSHIP

  • Love this car - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara

This car is awesome. It rides nice and turns great. People look at it and smile. It has great pick up on the highways for a 4 cyl. The only thing I dont like is the seat belts, but in a convertible, they have no choice. I can live with it. And it is roomy, the back seat is big enough for 2 people to sit in comfortably. Why did they stop making a convertible?

  • Disappointed - 2003 Toyota Camry Solara

Actually I own a 2000 SE V6 Manual and I am very disappointed to see that Toyota has dropped that transmission from the V6 lineup. The manual is the reason I went with the Solara versus the Accord. Now for 2003, the Accord comes with a 240 hp V6 AND a manual for about the same price as a now underpowered and not so fun to drive Solara (in comparison to the competition). I very much enjoy the Solara but in a year or so when ready to buy a new car, I won’t consider the Solara without the manual transmission.

This is the 2nd solara slev6 ive owned (2001+2003).The only reason I traded the 01 was to get the heated front seats. For the money its an exceptional value.Across the US from coast to coast with never a problem and an average of 28 highway/23 city mpg. No maintainance issues.Do regular service and it runs like a Swiss watch.Quality is on a par with my friends Lexus ES300,handling is actually not that much below another friends BMW,at half the price. I will probably buy another

Smooth, quiet cruiser. 30+ mpg on the highway. Plenty fast, great styling, ruined in 04 models. Paint chips badly on hood - must be airflow or the hood angle - noticed on others.

I had a Nissan Xterra before, and at the time needed a 4x4 vehicle. After moving though the ride was stale. I decided to upgrade to the Solara Coupe. Most solid Coupe I have owned so far (previous Camaro and a Monte Carlo). I probably paid too much for the car, but I have no complaints driving everyday.
